Restylane®/Perlane/Juvederm Frequently Asked Questions:How are they made?Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance which exists in the “dermis” (middle layer) of the skin in every human being. Its purpose is to “provide fullness and volume” to the skin. Restylane, Perlane and Juvederm are the only dermal fillers made from non-animal – based hyaluronic acid. This is a crystal-clear gel called NASHA™ - Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid and is biodegradable, completely biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid and is totally stable. Even though it is biosynthetically produced – it is identical to the natural substance produced by our bodies.How safe are they?Physicians have been using Restylane® since 1996 – worldwide. There is virtually no risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reaction because this is a non-animal based, fully biocompatible product. No allergy testing is required. Results are seen immediately. Dermal Fillers are FDA approved.Were any scientific studies done?Yes.
